How to Play Mahjong Solitaire
Match pairs of identical tiles that are both free - not covered by another tile and with at least one open side. The matched pair is removed. Win by removing all tiles from the board.
- โA tile is free if not covered AND has at least one open side
- โMatch two identical tiles to remove them
- โWin by removing all tiles from the board
- โLose if no matching free-tile pairs exist
Mahjong Strategy
Do not just match any pair you see. Prioritize tiles blocked by many tiles above them. Keep a balance of tile types so you do not run out mid-game.
- โDo not match the first pair you see - look for matches that free multiple tiles
- โUncover deeply buried tiles early
- โKeep balance - do not use all of one tile type too early
- โSome layouts are unsolvable - use Hint or Restart freely
